Today we had an assembly first period. All we accomplished in class 1st period was to copy down this week's vocabulary words.

- We copied down vocabulary words and definitions.
- Students defined respect in their own words and gave 3 examples of what respect looked like. Then they wrote down what I could do as a teacher to earn their respect.
- We completed a chart comparing the mother's perspective versus the daughter's on the following categories, school, competition, music lessons, television.
- Then we answered questions 2-7 on the story Two Kinds.
- Finally, we discussed allusion and began reading The First Seven Years.
